Fun in the Snow

Sunday was such a beautiful day we spent most of it playing outside. With the temperature above freezing and with all the snow we received last week it made for perfect building material. The neighborhood kids all worked on the snow fort in our front yard (see above). I made sure the kids did not attach it to the house because I didn't want to get assessed for added square footage.

We also played street hockey and slid down the man made hill our neighbor is making from the snow. Last year he was the neighborhood hero for all the kids. He had made a nice hill in his front yard and the kids spent hours sledding and snowboarding down. This year he moved it to the side of his house and it is already a hit with the kids.

Today reminded me of why we added on instead of moving.

Time to Lose the Kitchen

The time arrived to clear out the kitchen so it could be taken apart. All the plates, glasses, utensils, pots, pans, cans, boxes and everything else had to be boxed up and stored away. Below is pictures of the Tupperware and plastic ware being sorted to find covers and put away. Do you think we would ever have that many leftovers?

Jordan help pull out the stuff in the way back and found himself in a new little room.

Here is how the kitchen looked(minus a dishwasher).

This is the same corner the next day. Notice the window is now a doorway.
As of today...

Its Colorfull

Jaden participated in his first Cub Scout pinewood derby. Though he wasn't very successful on the track he did win the "most colorful" car award.
